-Finally, I have learned how the networks work, the options from applying and making use of them, the extensive networks system as for example the regional networks.

Eight-Year-Old on TSA Terrorist Watchlist Gets Frisked

ESSAY *4

Describe one social/ethical concern related to the IT system.

One social ethical concern it could be Reliability and Integrity relationing it with the IT system that may be the computer with all the information of the name of the persons on the TSA. So this are related because in the TSA the name of this Little kid appears like a terrorist and person that is dangerous so this is not good for the reputation of the kid because he is just a kid not a murder, and also he was not borned when september 11 happens, so this is unfair for the kid for his integrity, and also it is not funny to every time you fly to get like arrested by a Little time because you are on a terrorist list, just because your name match with the name of a dangerous person

Describe the relationship of one primary stakeholder to the IT system.

So the stakeholders here are the kid and his family and the TSA and thecomputer system, this are related because of the information of the TSA on the system of the computer it appears the name of this Little kid that maches with the name of a dangerous person, so this causes that this Little kid tries to fly he is stoped by the pólice and arrested because they think he is dangerous because they think he is dangerous, but he doesnt, its just a match with the name, an error in the system

Describe, step by step, how the IT system works.

This IT system work lik this, first you search for the name of the person that is dangerous, you see why he is dangerous, you putt he name in the list, so the computer sabe all the information of this person and order it with the other names. then that is organized the names is divided in Dangerouse, can fly and others. Then all the information that is well organized is passed to all the other computers that have this thing called TSA, so here they can see if somebody is dangerous or not.

Explain the relationship between the IT system and the social/ethical concern described in Criterion A.

The relationship is that because of the error that is in the sysmet of the TSA, everytime the kid wants to fly he cant because they think is dangerous because his name matches with the name of a dangerous person, so this affect in his social ethical concer because it is affecting the reliability and Integrity of the kid making people think bad about him.

Evaluate at least three impacts of the social/ethical issues on the relevant stakeholders.

Relliability and Integrity, People and machines, standards and protolos or maybe anonimity. The first one because its getting to this Little kid a bad image of him so this is ruining his reputation, the second one because the error in system of the TSA is scruing the life of the kid and of many people when they fly or in other ways or times, and maybe anonimity because everytime he travel people want to be calm ando to nobody bothers them but with this errot in the TSA it will make it to be stoped all the time and to disturb people because they think they are dangerous.

Evaluate one solution that addresses at least one problem identified in Criterion C.

The solution for the problema its to improve the error in the system, and to change it to a better one that has like more specificated information of the dangerous people and saying more caracteristics of them so in this way they will not be disturbing everyone that has the same name, only the real guy that is dangerous.

NASA to encrypt data after its latest laptop loss

ESSAY *3
The article is about the new security method proposed by the NASA that consists in encrypting the laptops to prevent from possible thieves that can get their personal information. It has been frequent over the last years and the managed information on these laptops is part from national security area.

Social and Ethical Issues:
Security is the principal issue on this case because the stored information on NASA computers is really important and contains too many specific details about new technologies and human resources. But we are also talking about Us Government Administration that in association with NASA share the international transport of weapons and nuclear equipment information from the country.

It is National Security problem and possible copying of methods or processes from the beneficiate entity that could probably send the thieves. The possibility that other enemy countries are involved would be critical in some privacy aspects from USA controlling system from information.

Areas of Impact:
The area of impact is Legal because the responsible people from stealing this laptop and especially this important information could be judged for threating the United States national security, surpassing the regulations from the law.
NASA has been affected in too many aspects as the politics from the entity, classification from employees, new technologies, IN-PROCESS technologies, specific and secret immovable from work, etc. All these aspects lead the case to the legal impacts, the information had been stolen and can accuse to critical effects, the case must be investigated and analyzed.

IT System:
Inputs: Laptops codes and serial numbers identification and classification, also encryption program development or purchase.
Process: Organize laptops importance, depending on their classification; configure the computer to meet the minimum requirements from encryption. Encrypt the laptops: Configure MCSS compliance, install a robust password, install the dual boot operating system, configure DNS settings depending on what are your preferences.
Storage: Updated system, encryption passwords and codification including the type of Upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. Users profile data saved.
Outputs: Secure information on the laptops, almost impossible access from hackers or intentional steal from information from other entities.

Stakeholders:
Primary: NASA because is the direct affected from the case.
Secondary: Us Government (Export administration regulations), the ones who have stolen the laptops and the personal and other workers from NASA.

Solution to the issue:
The solution is included on the case, and is basically the encryption from the computers, but could be to redesign their organization methods and itinerary from work. This could include GPS localizer on each laptop and inaccessible chips on the laptops that contain all the information and couldn´t be find on each computer.

So This Is How It Begins: Guy Refuses to Stop Drone-Spying on Seattle Woman

ESSAY *2
Describe one social/ethical concern related to the IT system.
Privacy is the social/ethical aspect I am going to relate to this article. Because by having a drone over your house, this will imply that they could use it for violating your privacy right. How can they violate that right? By taking aerial pictures from the drone into what is happening inside the house.

Describe the relationship of one primary stakeholder to the IT system.
One primary stakeholder that appears in this article is the couple that is being affected primary by the drone. The relationship exists when the person flying the drone decides to over-fly that couple’s backyard. After independently deciding what they will use the drone for.

Describe, step by step, how the IT system works.
Input: the drone is commanded by a pilot that is located in the ground from a remote control.
Storage: The UAV films through the camera already installed and displayed the images on the control remote commanded by the pilot.
Output: The pilot gathers the information took by the camera.

Explain the relationship between the IT system and the social/ethical concern already described.
This relationship will be between the privacy issue and the unmanned aerial vehicles (drone). What will happen is that the drone by overpassing to the aerial space that covers the couple´s backyard will be allowed to do that because no law forbids that the drone flies over because "the air is a public highway". But when the drone uses its camera for taking pictures inside the house, that is considered privacy invasion and that is, in fact, against the law. But for now there are no restrictions of flying over houses ever since you don’t abuse and don’t interfere with the privacy of other people.

Criterion C --- Evaluate at least three impacts of the social/ethical issues on the relevant stakeholders.
There are some social/ethical issues that come along with the stakeholders. The privacy that we already discussed, it tells that the drone by taking pictures from inside the house is violating a law and it can be penalized by authorities. The people and machines relationships can cause problems along their development because sometimes the machines are used based on bad intentions. At last point, the policies that involve technology are not strongly based upon law but when the machines that people use violate any law they could be penalized.

Evaluate one solution that addresses at least one problem identified in Criterion C.

I could say that one solution could be creating new laws based on the technological usage and what fines could be imposed if any of these laws is violated. There is only one big problem with this proposal, technology is always developing and at rates even faster every time, so it would be silly and useless to create laws preventing this kind of technological use. The solution I would give is: that you can use technological discoveries anywhere the law allows it but when it is affecting the privacy and security of an individual or group of people, this has to be penalized and fined, before something worst happens.

CASE 2:DATABASES

Process from Creating Databases
1. Organize the different classifications that include the animal, supplier, type of payment, species, health and customer specifications.
2. Create the relations between different areas as for example animal id on the animal and customer sections.
3. Fill the tables with animals, customers, health, payment, species and supplier specifications. On the animals section, specify if they are exotic animals or not.
4. Create the forms from each of the sections and fill 5 of them by each topic.
5. Create the reports in which all the information appears.
6. Specify the exotic animal sales on the month.

Some examples from Tables, Forms and reports.

Social Network Issues

Social Networks
ESSAY *1
The article is about the unknown importance from whatever you like on Facebook have in relation with the ads that appear on our wall right side, and how do their system qualifies you related to political, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity and religion aspects.

Social and ethical issues:

Privacy is the most important and remarkable issue on this case because almost every Facebook users, don´t know anything about this reports or classifications applied on what they like. This means that every kind of information from your qualities could be published on social statistics or general information from Facebook users and this is a violation to privacy.

Security could be also included, but in this case the probabilities from bad consequences on this term are minimal.

Areas of Impact:

It is related to the Legal area because there could be some point in which people demand explicit changes in what can or cannot be inferred algorithmically from their behavior on the network. Facebook must have certain control from the information they manage about users, some of their sign up privacy politics could be contradicted with these types of classifications that their systems administrate.

If there is the case in which someone don´t agree with these reports about people´s information and make the demand, Facebook could be very affected in how people recognize the site and construe the security from being subscripted or registered.
Moral area of impact could be established as the second with more magnitude on the case. This is because it is not acceptable for some people to be classified in a way they aren´t and just supporting on what they “like” on Facebook. Based on the ads that appear on their profile, determine their orientations and friend´s ideas about them. It is true that they are using advanced technologies and could have an approximate data about their user’s orientations but it is not morally correct.

IT System:

Inputs: “Likes” from Facebook users on different pages, famous people sites and general topics.

Process: Facebook system is organized in a specific way and codified to give the necessary reports from user´s likes. After the users like something the operative system works algorithmically. For example, it’s possible they have these specific algorithmic specifications.

·        Heterosexual men “likes” classification (x, y, z) pages. Homosexual men “likes” classification. (A, b, c) pages, including TV show Desperate Housewives or the musical Wicked.
·        On politics, Republicans “likes” classification (x, y, z) pages. Democrats “likes” classification (a, b, c) pages. Examples could be the Facebook pages from the presidential candidates or political party magazines and sites.
·        Christian people “likes” classification could be everything related to the bible, the pope and distinct catholic or protestant churches pages. Atheists “likes” classification could be related with no religious sites, importance to just humanity, no god for them. Islam “likes” classification could relate to the Coram, Mahomet, etc.
After analyzing these selections the server decides what perspective the qualified users have and for example in this case if they are heterosexual or homosexual, Christian, Islamic or atheist and republicans or democrats. So then, the results are translate to different databases and published for Facebook administrators, having a complete report and perspective about the users.

Storage: The information from the users: politic inclination, sexual orientation, religion and ethnicity. The characteristics from the pages used by Facebook, approximate results from the analyzed people aspects, graphics and data tables automatically compared with other sites on the network and regional qualities according to their location users and their selections. In general the databases form the users with their specific qualified aspects.

Outputs: The reports transmitted by the algorithmic system from Facebook. Some approximate results.
And basically how people behaves on Facebook and very probable how their personality is.

Stakeholders:

The primary stakeholders are Facebook users because are the directly involved on the case, their privacy, orientations and inclinations, security, and perspective are some of the aspects that relate them with these Facebook social-technology methods.
The secondary stakeholders include:

Publicity agencies that are related to the ads that appears on the user’s profile. They probably have established contracts with Facebook and this method give them some benefits as more recognition and business major involvement.

Facebook that is the responsible from these user´s analysis don´t have anything to loose and to the contrary they might have economic benefits.

Cambridge Team that is related to the case because they are informing about how Facebook work with people selections.

Solution to the issue:

Realize different surveys on Facebook, specifying what are they doing with what people like, and how are they classifying the information. Then analyze the results classifying them by interested people keeping with this analysis, non interest people and people that disagree with the system. Finally keep the methods or avoid them depending on the results to prevent an abuse to privacy.

5. A router is better than a hub or a switch because it’s cheaper and is capable from transmitting internet by cable or Wi-Fi. They are easy to move around your place and locate them wherever, so it is better and efficient for you.A wireless USB is an additional hardware that will be useful because you can have internet almost everywhere, also will support your network capacity as an extra device and will help to keep it as a high bandwidth network.

The network adapter don´t need to be the most sophisticated, because it always executes the same function that is to interface the computers to the network.

The cable connectors are low coast products and can give you the opportunity to amplify the router entrances for internet connection.

Network cables are necessary to connect the PC´s to the router, and don´t need to be sophisticated.

The firewall must be a good one because makes you to have for sure that your network is protected and especially from inadequate content as pornography or violence media. It will complete your network and make it secure.

The topology to be used is the STAR TOPOLOGY because includes a central connection called the "hub node" in this case is a router.

Global internet slows after 'biggest attack in history'

1. As classified by experts as the biggest cyber attack to the Internet and that certainly has caused that network systems become slow, especially affecting the banking sites and pages selling items in which certain transactions could remain in process, several police organizations investigated the case and it seems that the attacks come from gangsters with porgramas of information associations in eastern Europe.
2. Stakeholders involved are internet users, security organizations in the network, the people who carried out the cyber attack, and Spahamus. The IT systems include computers, network, Internet paltaformas, deleted data including threats, antivirus programs, Internet access, information recorded from the threats.
3. Follow the regulations of the correct use of the Internet, continue to avoid viruses, update the antivirus, identifying information that must be safeguarded by users.
4. Business: delays to operations at sites of bank accounts, sales items, selling multimedia files.
5. Too many people use the internet to work on their daily activities and this kind of events stop an extense part from the financial, and administrative activities. Affect bank operations configuration and people´s personal information.
Conclusiones:
1. Such activities stop a range of work activities, and affects the confidence of users in the network.
2. Valuable information can be captured and used in bad way

3. Antivirus services company technicians must keep working on new and better programs

Article 1: How hackers can switch on your webcam and control your computer

Read more: http://www.smh.com.au/digital-life/consumer-security/how-hackers-can-switch-on-your-webcam-and-control-your-computer-20130328-2gvwv.html#ixzz2QezbvVV1
  1. Description: A 14 years old boy was hacked in a game call Runescape, and he lost all the money he had invested on it, we are talking about 700 dollars. So then he starts to study the case and look for how to do the same things to other people as a signal from rematch. After some time he learn how to hack other people and he introduced in the hackers world with a software called Remote Administration Tool (RAT), this malware software consist in controlling the computer and changing settings on the web cam so he can see what people is doing.  He started to like this activity and he passed many hours per day concentrated on hacking people. He also hacked other runescape accounts and felt the satisfaction from being dominating the other people games. After some time from hacking  he was controlling approximately 1000 computers all around the world, at some time he decided to tell his parents but they don´t care about, they just tell to him to avoid stealing. And finally the only reason for the one he stop doing this activity, was because boredom.
  2. Key stakeholders and IT systems:  Alex the hacker, hacked people, police and IT systems include spyware software, malware software RAT, hacked computers, webcams, and microphone on some computers.
  3. Social and ethical issues: Security on the web, because too many people have their information, bank accounts, games accounts with credit card number included and every kind of paid websites. Also social networks information, where people need some privacy and if they don’t have it they could be part from criminal actions too.
  4. Areas of Social Impact:  Privacy is one of the areas affected because people ´s information can be used for not incorrect things such as abductions.
  5. Evaluating the impacts and conclusions: for the people who were hacked is a way to learn and know to be careful what kind of websites are they registering to, for the police is a sign that young people are able to control remote systems and enter restricted sites omitting all kinds of security keys, so they must be cautious and to people who are not involved but have heard of it is an advantage to know the technologies that are capable of organizing hackers and prevent such actions with antivirus.
Conclusions:
  1. Malware software manipulated by hackers is affecting a lot of internet users.
  2. Young people are the ones that most frequently work in hacking systems.
  3. New and better software to counterattack hackers must be implemented or created.

Computer Failures

Computer Failures
Year 2000 problem or Millennium bug:

This problem was caused because of lack from technology in that specific moment. The people that made the plans about this computers creation and their system organization don´t think about this important topic and that the people´s necessity to be changed.

This was the situation: The computer assumes the first two digits are 1 and 9. To the computer, 1999 is just 99. That means the computer will interpret 00 not as 2000 but as 1900, throwing the date calculation off by 100 years. And to fix the problem, every computer system's software must be checked and tested. Multiply this by the millions of computers around the world and the hundreds of billions of lines of computer code, and you can see how immense the project is.

The problem was about the software characteristics and that is very limited in this and too many other aspects. The estimated coast was about 3.6 trillion dollars; that was exaggerated, but it makes sense because we are talking about millions of consumers.

Denver Airport Baggage System:
It was the effect from a bad projection from the system, the engineer’s don´t analyze the situation enough and how external factors in the airport can affect the new technology.

The situation: At the end of the first day from working, the system that was finally implemented was a shadow of what was originally planned.  Rather than integrating all three concourses into a single system, the system supported outbound flights on a single concourse only.  All other baggage was handled by a manual tug and trolley system that was hurriedly built when it became clear the automated system would never meet its goals.

Talking about the coast from this failure, the quantity is almost 1million dollars that was invested in the month from system-test period. Also the materials and the infrastructure used for this project were really expensive.
The responsible from this failure were the people that make the plan from this project. And just for trying to make easy the way they move the baggage around the airport and make the process a little faster, they finished losing 1 million dollars and time.

Mars Climate Orbiter:
Focused on the upcoming landing of NASA's Mars Polar Lander, these actions include: a newly assigned senior management leader, freshly reviewed and augmented work plans, detailed fault tree analyses for pending mission events, daily telecons to evaluate technical progress and plan work yet to be done, increased availability of the Deep Space Network for communications with the spacecraft, and independent peer review of all operational and contingency procedures.

The board recognizes that mistakes occur on spacecraft projects, the report said. However, sufficient processes are usually in place on projects to catch these mistakes before they become critical to mission success. Unfortunately for MCO, the root cause was not caught by the processes in place in the MCO project.
The failure coast approximately 370 million dollars. And was people´s mistake with some missing qualities from the software.

Hardware Scenarios

Bright Future Academy IT Report
CARLOS FUENTES-PIERUCCINI

After observe and analyze the technology your academy have I can suggest some hardware, programs and type of connections, with their specific details that can be functional and gave you an easy organization. The principal idea is to actualize all your systems.

The most important thing and that would be basic is your network infrastructure. Actually, you don´t really have a high speed network that can support that quantity of users and connections on your academy. I would recommend having more than one server and newer ones. This is because they can offer, a high bandwidth capacity, highly demanding software applications and a highly manageable network administration. And the coasts from ownership are minimum.

With a good network infrastructure organization everything will be easier, and talking about the adequate software for the school, I don´t think it will be seen formal that this kind of organizations don´t count with the original licenses from the specific programs, the coasts aren´t too high and will be a great investment for the next years to acquire this technology. The programs that the school uses must be educational and the administration need to be sure they would be secure. I insist in changing the Windows version and the Microsoft office to the newest ones (Windows 8 and Microsoft 2010), they dispose from excellent tools and a faster solving from tasks.

As I observe the computers you dispose are older and that means you may lose money repairing them after installing a program to newest, with which there is a possibility that cannot support its new features and technology. But the best solution would be to sell every computer you have, and then buy at least fifteen computers because you have 500 students in 45 classrooms, that means approximately 11 students per class, so with fifteen you have a margin talking about the classes with more students.

This computers must be laptops because they are easy to move around and can be shared between the classrooms at any moment; about their qualities I suggest the i5 core and at least 4 gb from RAM because they are going to be used by many students and almost at every moment, so the tasks are going to be solved faster and there would be more memory for that quantity of documents.

About the smartphones I would recommend to use and take advantage of them because they have a lot of functions, are very fast browsing on the web, and they can integrate the group by getting in accord through groups on social networks.
